hit a pothole doing 70mph

^see thread title.

Was on the way to work and drove over a pothole I couldn't see well (since it was underneath an overpass whose shadow obscured the pothole)

Now my steering doesn't feel tight like it used to, which I noticed immediately after hitting it. Overall the car feels 'softer' and turn in response is not as sharp as it was.

Car doesn't pull in either direction really.

I checked the tires when I parked at work and they all looked okay.

Didn't check the tire pressure yet (didn't have time) but I'm going to check in the morning and report back.

But does this sound like an alignment issue? Or did my tires just get some air kicked out of them from the impact?

Lift the front off the ground, make sure you use the frame as a lift point. Try to move the wheel up and down, side to side. If there is any play at all you should be able to feel it, that would be a good indicator something got boinked a bit too hard.

IN Michigan we have a lot of potholes. Since one has to find a pothole that would impact the OTHER side of the car to correct the deficiency, it should be easy. Can't comment on other states. The same speed and similar size pothole isrecommended.

No no no no no.... everyone knows you're supposed to hit it at the same speed on the other side of the car and it will even the suspension out.

Drive over the pothole at 88mph, then remember to take the other lane so you don't hit it the first time.
