Help please.. Looking to get Nameless ...
I think I'm going to buy the nameless axle back system.. I'm looking for that mature sound as I'm one of the old dudes on here... Trying for no drone and a deeper low tone so people still think I'm cool...
I had my heart set on the milltek system.. But only one importer and price is too high for what it is.. So... Anyone know of a good place to get the nameless...? Price I can expect? Any other insight appreciated? Thanks in advance... |

I don't think anyone carries the full line of nameless products other than their website, I believe most of their exhaust products are made to order.

I bought my overpipe frontpipe combo from ft86speedfactory. Browse through the marketplace and you could compare some prices. The axle back is nice but I went with the perrin resonated catback which has a very nice mature sound. To each his own I guess, but you can't go wrong with nameless. Good luck

I went with the TRD Cat Back and I'm with you one of the older guys here on the site and also an 13' FR-S owner. Nice deep rich somewhat low tone. Probably not the lowest but low enough for me, and well within the Warranty requirements since it from Scion/Toyota line. Just food for thought

Yep, I'm one of those "older dudes" who was looking for that "mature sound". I found it. A nameless axel back with the 2.5" piping and the 5" mufflers. It fits my ears perfectly. It says "I'm here" ...... but does not scream "LOOK AT ME!". I ordered it on line directly from nameless. It only took 7 days from placing the order to receipt of the muffler. $667. for the muffler, including tax and shipping. Very well made product; fits perfectly, easy to install. If you order on line, pay attention to the size of pipe (2.5" or 3"); the mufflers (delete-i.e.none, 4" or 5"), choice of colored tips (I just got the plain). The sound descriptions on line of the various alternatives are quite accurate. No drone at speed (at least with the 2.5" pipe and 5"mufflers). I'm glad I didn't get the smaller mufflers. Yep, music to my ears (and the tips look "cool") and mrs humfrz approves of the sound. humfrz PS - it doesn't come with a new gasket, so be careful getting the old one off. |

It gets loud when you go beyond upgrading the axleback. The downpipe/overpipe is manageable, but when you add a header, it gets pretty loud at that point.

+1 to what @humfrz said - i have the nameless axle-back with 2.5" pipes and 5" mufflers. very happy with the tone/sound/look/quality. i really like the double-wall tips vs. single wall. also, i ordered their exhaust hangers but ended up switching back to the softer stock hangers as the harder ones transmitted more vibration/sound into the cabin. i have not had any issues with the exhaust moving or shifting with the stock hangers.

I too was looking for a sound of sophistication, and not Honda raspiness or drone.
I can assure you that the axel back, which will remain nameless, is an excellent choice. (2.5"dia and 5" muffler) BTW, for a bit of low end add the TRD intake. Installed in 20min. Sound is awesome. :P As for looks, it literally looks like a Ferrari exhaust. - be aware, startup vs warmed-up are two different sounds. Also 100% agree w/Humfrz assessment. The installation is not "hard" (only 2 bolts and 4 rubber hangars). Having said that, I gave the installation the "old" try and found out that my old back doesn't like to work on a cold, hard, concrete floor; my tri-focal glasses don't seem to have a "focus" for the hangars; my elbows no longer seem to bend two directions at once and when I can "see" where I need to be, my arms won't go there ..... and if my arms will go there ..... I can't see what I'm doing. Yes, I'm ah mess .... So, I packed that pretty baby up, drove up to the auto shop, poured a cup of coffee and settled in with a car magazine. I didn't even get my cup of coffee drank or finished one article in the magazine, when they said "mr humfrz, you are good to go .... the muffler fit perfectly and it sounds great!" Yep, $30 well spent .... off for a short drive, then a long nap .... humfrz |
