Comparing my new 2017 BRZ Premium with my 2013 BRZ
Comparing my new 2017 BRZ Premium, 6 speed delivered last week with my 2013 BRZ I traded in with 50,000 miles.
Both are stock except for crash bolts to allow -1.6 degrees of negative camber up front. I do not have the performance package on the 2017 BRZ. I had a 3 hour early morning Sunday drive in my 2017 BRZ on quiet twisty hilly country roads today with no other traffic. The 2017 BRZ suspension is definitely more comfortable than the 2013 BRZ on less than perfect roads. The 2017 is not as stiff and definitely has more body roll in the turns. I noticed that I was driving the 2017 faster on the same roads than the 2013 due to the more supple suspension. With less vibrations transmitted to the driver, I was able to drive faster with ease in the 2017, on less than perfect country roads. With the 2013 BRZ, I would drive slower due to the go-cart feel and significantly more road vibration stimuli. I was surprised how the 2017 is more neutral handling in turns. Instead of the front tires protesting at the limit with the 2013, the 2017 uses all four and drifts. The handling limit feels higher to me with the 2017 due to the neutral handling. The 2017 BRZ is a more comfortable driving car for long road trips and on bumpy roads. The 2017 BRZ ride is more upscale and Porsche like. What an incredible bargain the 2017 Subaru BRZ offers for $25,000. |

Great review. It would have helped if I saw this long ago. I ordered one, but i would have ordered one a long time ago if I knew it was even more comfortable.

I was taking a chance, when I ordered the 2017, that the changes made would be a noticable improvement. Improving the ride comfort wasn't my top concern, but it has its benefits.
The manufacturers gave the suspension changes a lot of thought and testing and it shows. The suspension change is significant enought that I am surprised it feels like a different car. |

I was unaware till I saw your pic that spoiler is standard equipment even on the premium model.
It's a $400. accessory on the Toyota 86. Just can't fathom why Toyota is charging more for the 86 than a BRZ, with seemingly fewer basic items on their car. |

Can you please try to give a comparison of the new led headlights? This is a concern for me.

The leds are everything I wanted, they provide great illumination, coverage, and color temperature. I like the led headlights a lot and am not giving any thought to changing them. |

Didn't think the premium came with a spoiler. I think it looks much better than the plain trunk on the previous generation.

I am confused. That pic is the old Scion spoiler but the tails are the 17s. Every other pic of the 17 86 spoiler shows the same one as the BRZ.

That might be the 1st factory spoiler I don't hate.
Soooo, I guess you won't be installing coilovers? Haha Thanks for the review!

Ya that is the confusing part. The site clearly shows the old Scion style one but nothing else does. Doesn't matter to me I was just curious.
