I think you guys are being a bit harsh on the Mustang.
I traded my 2011 5.0 for an FR-S just a year ago. I sure do miss the big beast! Truth is, at these price points, you won't find a perfect sports car. The FR-S does some things brilliantly, the Mustang some too. I know the Stang made me giggle too, and the FR-S does not (but I appreciate other things in it).
Before getting the FR-S, I spent several weeks trying to get a Boss 302 but none of the dealers in my area would sell one even at sticker price. They usually wanted at least $2,000 over. I couldn't bite on that.
