I can't say that I have done it personally but I found a website that shows it is a valid fob for that model year. I would think that if it is compatible the buttons would work but you might have an issue with the manual key as the newer model remote contains a laser cut key.

The newer remote also has an NFC chip in it as it unlocks the doors when I walk up to the car.
