I think there is a great misconception about forged vs cast wheels. Most think forged automatically means lighter with added strength. But the reality is that forged wheels are lighter because they can shed off more weight due to their strength. But by then, the overall strength becomes on par with a cast wheel. Usually lightweight and strength cannot be achieved together.... its usually a compromise of sorts. There are plenty of forged wheels that are thinner that bend easily. One name brand forged wheel when first came out was put on a friends eclipse. Within a week, bent wheels... Just keep in mind to take into consideration about replacement. Replacement of a forged wheel is going to be a much pricier proposition than a good light weight cast wheel.
