So if I don't need to drop the transmission, where would I need to grease up? I've already greased the shaft that connects to the fork. I can't think of where else I could add grease to that's reachable. Maybe only around the fork where the rubber is? I don't see how that could make the honking noise...
Reach as far down as you can and smear it in. No disassembly required.
