Wow, I think there is something wrong with your pedal.
I have the Verus pedal spacer, and the pedal never slip out of the pedal stopper.
There is some side to side play (not caused by the verus spacer). Probably because the pedal assembly is made of plastic. But you seem to have a lot more play than me.
