Do be fair though, I think it's what you grew up with. I played PC games all the way back to the early DOS days (Yes, Flight Simulator 1.0, all the Sierra and Zork games, Microprose).

I did own an original Pong game way back in the day, and also a Colecovision. From there, I didn't own a console until the PS2 and that was primarily for my kids. I played with them, but I could never force myself to play a solo game on it.
Pffft, I grew up with consoles and handhelds. I still prefer Keyboard/mouse due to the precision and versatility.

I will say though, some games are actually only built with a controller in mind, and when played with a keyboard/mouse, it feels horrible. This is mostly a problem in games that have acceleration attached to character/object movement.
