Bonburner mentioned, mind the fluid levels, follow the maintenance schedule and just enjoy driving your car. If your car gets to hurting it will usually send you a signal via a dash light.
Oh yes, if the clutch starts making whining, screeching or screaming sounds, read up about the TOB (Throw Out Bearing) (release bearing). Nope there isn't anything you can do to prevent it from going bad, except to replace it.
If you want to avoid something bad from happening to your car - stay waaaay back from parking stops …
