Like I said do everything you can to keep it on the pavement without endangering your life. The only really big critter I've hit was an elk, at least a 6 pointer. He freaked and tried to run but slipped on the ice and went down in the road so my FJ55 pretty much just went over it. I ended up with a piece of broken antler in the radiator that sealed its own hole so I never bothered replacing the radiator and other than that it was just strips of rotting meat stuck to things underneath. It was late at night, nearest town was 35 miles away, it was 15 degrees and snowing so there was no way I was doing anything other than taking it out because going off the road was a death sentence.
