If you made something like that (a template, laser cutter and a countersink bit is all you need) you could protect the lip while not having it take away from the look.

oddly enough I just saw this thread. Is this what you are looking for?
Although I dont know how this might fit in the RS1.0 , the thing is our bumper never really gets scraped its the front lip. Mostly right underneath the fog lights.

But it seems a bit pricey , I have no idea how much the RS1.0 front splitter alone costs. So it might not be worth the investment if its the same price to just replace the splitter entirely.
