Every independent shop I've contacted just buys from Tire Rack anyway, half of them are upfront about it and will say "Listen, whether you push the button to order them or I do doesn't matter to me"

Maybe if all you do is commute back and forth to work at 20 mph, but if you are capable of driving worth a damn you can spin a lot of tire with 'just 200hp'
