Took my BRZ to Drift Office yesterday and had a tune done with the electric supercharger. This is the TQ 25024V compressor and not the one that Fenton is currently testing. Working with Bob and Bill is very easy and they answer any questions you may have - which in my case were many. It was also 86 night and Bob bought 240 chicken wings to share with everyone. Back to the tune. They didn’t want to run a baseline as I have just added a Borla header with the supercharger and they didn’t want to run a risk of running too lean. However, the first run was done without the arming switch on and resulted in a hp measurement of app. 150. Low figure was due to drag from the blades in the supercharger. Bob did say that a normal BRZ (FT-S) without mods will average about 162 without a tune. The next five runs were very similar all showing 196 hp and torque between 176-180. Boost was a maximum of 5.1 trailing off as the rpms climbed. Bob thinks that this is because battery power starts dropping off almost immediately and gets down to 19v by the end of the run. I thought it was because at the higher rpms the boost just can keep up with the increased air flow. Perhaps Fenton and Rob can comment on this. I can say that when the boost kicks in it does push you back in the seat and makes the car much more enjoyable to drive. Graph is below with one of the typical runs and one done in second gear just to determine that it was shifting at 8000 rpms (second gear only).
