ran into both issues installing these into my buddys FRS. the best thing to do is to take a trip to your local hardware store and either pick up a bolt that fits those tabs perfectly or pick up 4 nuts and bolts.

we worked with what we had in his garage so we decided to opt out of those tabs and screws and use the nuts and bolts we had laying around. as long as you can no plan to change them back to stock, you'll never have to pull the plastic bezel off to get to the nut.

in terms of the wire with the brown plug, you'll be cutting that plug off and attaching it to the purple wire in the harness under the dash. I would of course recommend soldering it but because we didn't have access to a soldering gun, we decided to t-tap it. i normally don't recommend t-taps but because its just sending a signal to the relay (power source is the battery), i saw no harm in it.
