Not in a corner but I do take my time parking my car in the middle of the slot to have as much space from the neighboring cars to avoid dings, then this happens…

I think I have realised why this happens. Most of these people don't have a sense of where the boundaries of their car are and they can't see the parking spot markings clearly. They use neighbouring cars to align their own cars.

That is why, even when I park far away with no cars next to me, I will come back to find a car parked next to mine.
