Truth spoken here. A 4 cyl boxer is also shorter front to back than a inline because only two cylinders line up meaning less of the engines weight hangs over the front axle. Not only does this boxer layout design lower the CG but it also concentrates more of the mass to the center of the car (mass centralization). Something designers are paying more attention to these days.

It is all about packaging. This car is more expensive to build because of it's layout and engine design than a FWD inline four. The only drawback of the boxer is that it is wider and designing a chassis around it can be challenging. Dan
