My experience with XP10's are that they are fairly quiet when you have a good transfer layer on the rotors. However -- getting a good transfer layer is difficult -- you have to get them HOT - it's hard to do (XP8 should be slightly easier, but I'd think still difficult). Street driving doesn't generate enough heat and the transfer layer goes away -- the squeal returns.
My car is mostly track use, and I gave up on trying to keep the XP10s bedded and quiet away from the track.
Light brake pressure seems to be the worst - you can brake later/harder for normal stops and minimize the squealing at the risk of others thinking you are driving like an ass.
