If it stays NA almost guaranteed to have a torque dip. It is deliberately tuned in for economy/emissions targets. Even NA Porsche flat-6s have a similar dip (people just don’t complain as much because they still have way more torque and power overall).
This! It would make the 86 my ideal sporty but still practical car. With rear seats down mine already has enough room for my sporting gear, but the small boot opening makes loading and unloading tricky at times. A liftback would make it perfect. Sadly, to save weight and cost, I fear it will stay conventional boot.

Yes! It’s ridiculous Toyota drag their feet on this. At least the BRZ has it now. Which is one reason I’d lean towards the BRZ when the time comes to consider an upgrade. That plus Subaru seem to do a nicer job on interior and exterior styling details.
I want Toyota to bring back the orange. Plus, I love the hyper blue, hope they offer colours like that more often.
