I thought it was funny since there was a lot of back and forth over the color on the Series 2.0 in here when it came out.
I personally like the black and white versions while I drive a silver myself although I know they are the two hardest to keep clean. I think we all get the compliments no matter what the color is.
This car just looks better than most of what's out there right now short of the few expensive exotics. I also get a "nice car" almost every other time I drive it from kids all the way up to old folks and everything in between.
