While I'm not a fan of the shiny metallic look, I do think a brushed nickel, or brushed stainless finish would be better. A large highly reflective surface at that level and position could be problematic.
That said, I think if the logo was laser cut all the way through, you could then put an underlay beneath it to display any color or pattern through the logo.
I think that might be a more attractive offering since it allows for better personalization...
