Bummer man! I would have to ask, but likely PPG automotive clear. Same stuff a bodyshop would use. I'm not sure of how many coats either. Likely one or two. It adds weight so Joel doesn't like to overkill it.
PM me if you want to talk numbers. You could get insurance to pay for a new roof panel and then you install this CF panel at a zero cost. Here is the DIY I made for you.
