My recommendation is to run the car as your preferred racing forum allows and ride with other experienced drivers while perhaps letting one drive your car while you ride shotgun. Huge way to speed up your learning curve. More important than worrying about your seats or weight. Many clubs have a time only or exhibition class which doesn't infringe in anyone's class trophies. Have fun, keep eyes and ears open.
