Track days are NOT races, they are the best way for you to learn the limits and response on the limit of both you and your car. My driving has improved massively since I began doing track days 3 years ago. Pace yourself and have fun, when you're ready then step up to amateur timed events like the Michelin Cup, and then to a racing formula if you still want to (or have the money to...)

5w30 is actually better for track and hot climate use, the 0w20 is a bit thin.
