OH and let's be clear that not all 2JZ engines are GTEs. There are probably thousands and thousands of the lesser versions of the engines around than the GTE. All 2JZs are not created equal.

The one i owned was a NA GE from a lexus with 66k on it when I bought it in a junkyard for $400.
Ge gte share crank, rods, block. ge head flows better.
Gte had oil squirter and lower compression.
I remember asking different dyno operators what was the highest hp cars they had on the dyno. The answer was always "believe or not it was a toyota" i was surprised the first couple of times.
I think the vvt 2jzs had a little lighter weaker rods.
