A 1000kg (sub 1 ton car) would mean plenty of carbon fiber parts, aluminum chassis etc. In today's safety requirements its almost impossible to make a MASS produce cheap 1 ton car...


Civic late 90s Type R, did it (920kg), but that would FAIL safety standards today... heck my MR2 SW20 would also fail.... I mean have you guys seen crash photos of MR2s??.... frontal crash = 50% compression of the car, most likely the engine bay and Rear Half would be structurally identifiable, but the front half would be compressed to a pancake.
