Why does everyone assume that you actually *need* to jack up the engine to remove the spark plugs? (factory manuals are FULL of convoluted procedures that aren't necessary - use it for the pictures and the torque values)

I can almost guarantee that you can do it from the top or the bottom without moving the engine with a little bit of work. Even if you have to move the engine, it should only take the removal of two nuts, not the whole rigamarole that the factory manual states.
