No, he's looking for real time data feed while driving on the track like you get from a traditional mechanical gauge. Not datalogging info he can overlay on a video when he gets home.

I like the idea of the idatalink, but I guess there aren't enough reviews or examples to show how effective/fast it is. Plus, it seems limited on radio support.

Have you looked at the P3Cars gauge you can use in the left air vent? That hooks up to OBDII and you can display things like oil temp, coolant temp, etc. I'd like to do that eventually, but for now I just stick a phone on the windsheild and run Torque to watch temps and use my old cell phone for a dedicated lap timer.
