The bumpstop thing is not clearly stated in instructions and there is miscommunication about it online based on misinterpretation (Bilstein claims 'internal bumpstops' on their struts, which is true (and isn't super complicated if you want to know more, but it sounds fancier than it is), but the rear damper is not a 'strut' on the 86 and needs the bumpstop in the same configuration as OEM)
The spring perch is more of a 'common sense' thing, but it looks like they've updated their documentation with much better pictures, see page 4 of this PDF which you can get off
