Yes the alteenator is controlled by engine ECU, but i believe what @tomm.brz is sating is the tables which controll the alternator are not defined ie unknown and so have not been chamged by the openflash guys in tune.


Im not sure of the exact logic but it appears that the alternatpr may cut off durring full throttle if battery is fully charged or current draw from battery is low ie headlights not on. Also air conditioning is also controoled by ecu under full throttle in some circumstances.


Whwn tuned the logic may have changed slightly if your not a 2017 euro car as all oft tunes are actually based on euro roms not usa roms even though they may be labeled same calid. Its possible the euro roms control the alternator differently but i do not know for sure
