I drove them back to back, F Sport and regular trim. Definitely not cosmetic.
The F Sport suspension is every bit as good, I say better, than Mercedes C Class (also drove back to back) or Audi A6 (ditto).
I suspect it will beat a non M type BMW also.
The new Lexus IS and GS series are very, very good cars.
Having said that, the FRS is a totally different type of car and driving experience.
Lexus? super quiet, FRS? very noisy. Lexus? superb ride FRS? not so much although the 2015 has re-tuned suspension reported to be much better than before. Lexus? Very quick in 350 rwd version FRS? Pretty slow by modern standards though reports are they get quite a bit quicker as the engine breaks in, say 20,000 km (12,000 miles) or so.
Handling? Well, short of a Porsche Cayman nothing out there compares to the FRS/BRZ for handling. The Lexus is very good but is still an 1,600 kg + (3,600 lb) four door vehicle.
Value for money? Lexus.
Outright performance? Lexus
Fun to drive? Well, surprisingly close actually though very different. This Lexus has been refined and developed from bumper to bumper over the previous models, it's a winner.
