Don't do me like that. We both know that clutches and brakes differ only in whether or not they spin. Automatic transmissions have shit tons of both, and they stink when they fail.
Just because the TCU doesn't allow the engine to overrev doesn't necessarily mean the first gear clutch/brake/whatever can't get hot from repeated hard engagement. I've never done it but if a downshift into first isn't preceded with a solid rev match, shit will eventually smoke. Ask owners of the Honda H5.
