It is commonly removed during big brake swaps and never put back on. I ran my WRX without a dust shield for the better part of 5 years and had NO issues. Thank you man. I know it is not necessary; however, will there be a lot of brake dust on you rim when you run a BBK without dust shield? That will be hard to clean and a shield might make life easier.
