I think there is a might difference with the FX300 (or 350 whatever the hell they sold me LOL) becuase I didnt notice the sound much. It definintely is there, but very mild. (This might be becuase of break in period and I guess might get worse).
Also, the engagement seems to be quite different than the 6 puck FX400. I don't notice that instant full engagement (This again might be because of break in period, we'll see I'll keep all updated).
