gravitylover yep I get cold start rattle too after startup. It only happens just the second I start the car, and doesn't always happen. Concerning, but I've heard way more startup rattle from a brand new 2019 Subaru (loaner car during recall), and read that its very common, so I suppose its something I can ignore. I did at one time have a startup rattle a couple days after recall that persisted with light revving, but I was on an empty gas tank and filling up with fresh gas stopped that - no idea except assuming I had bad gas.
I had worse noise before recall than after- my throw out bearing was junked ad the recall gave me an opportunity to get it changed for free. It revs very cleanly on nice smooth roads. At 110,886 miles today, about 5000 miles and 2 1/2 months since recall.
