You're talking strictly build quality, right? Because the WRX wheel is bigger. I have the Toyota GT-86 Limited steering wheel, so it's fairly fresh, but I didn't notice anything weird with my stock wheel even after 40k miles of use. I gave it to my friends as a photobooth prop, so I can check it again and see how it's actually held up.

Building mine combining JDM WRX S4 parts and the STi performance parts catalog for the car, which is shared between the WRX and WRX STi. I'm not rebranding any of the WRX parts into STi parts or anything.
For steering wheel, I found the WRX dimensions to be better. Smaller circumference, thicker, and flat bottomed. The material used feels and grips better too. The seating position is nowhere near the perfect position the BRZ has though when driving.
