I dislike the look and performance of 'vertibles. Though the 12C Spider shown above is popular. Mclaren says some surprising stuff about its demand

In fact, I can’t see any reason why you’d buy a coupé instead of one of these, and nor, it seems, can customers. At present 95 per cent of 12C orders are for Spiders, and although this will drop off after initial the interest has quietened down, McLaren still expects about 70-80 per cent of customers to go for the al fresco option. Lucky them.
The 12C was designed to be both a koopay and convertible from its creation. So no performance loss in the Spider.

Koopay all the way. However the more I learn about the Miata the more I like it. I'd get the Miata PRHT and never take take the top down.
Also I would get some sound dampening mods to reduce road noise.
