Ya, 6061 can elongates over 20%, which appears like what might be required for this to work, only has yield and tensile strength of 55 and 125 MPa respectively, and more importantly fatigue strength of 96 MPa. T4 heat treat is only marginally better but won't elongate as much without failure. What's stress on this part with 70 Nm of bolt torque?
