I find my short shifter feels good, but the throw isn't short enough and the shifter is about three inches shorter than I'd like it to be. Something like that TRD part would allow me to lengthen the shifter and possibly shorten the throw a little along the way.

Under the car, near the driveshaft, between the bottom shifter "eye" and the lateral linkage rods. It extends the shifter stalk downwards changing te geometry therefore shortening the throw.
