If you are going with the same size tyre but in a ultra High performance tire, you will spend less than $200 a tire at tirerack. The Prius tyres are one of the most expensive tires in that size.
The FR-S does not have $300 a tire because they are so small at 215/45/17.
Toyota\Subaru could have saved even more money and gone with a better performing tyres at a cheaper price.
