I added black rubber washers between the stock inner core and my core. In the event that the bolts are overtightened, the cover and the inner core sit on-top of each other rather than having some empty space to allow flex. The black washers just need to be removed - and adding washers on-top help it further. If you already installed and don't want to remove the black washer, adding washers ontop will do fine.

I'll be updating the inner piece design so that washers won't be needed in the future, and i'll be removing the black washers from where I was placing them.

Also, testing a new piece of foam to put between the spoiler and the cover to prevent any water from getting in and from seeing the internal piece when looking at the spoiler. Basically fill the gap.
