Something doesn't sound right with yours. Try updating yours to the latest firmware via the GoPro website.
My Hero 3 White edition has performed well for almost a year. You should try using a faster microSD card. I use a
32gb Class 10 from Sandisk and it works great.
Lastly I'd recommend the
Wasabi Power batteries and charger. I can squeeze almost 60 minutes of 1080P/30FPS recording out of one battery with wifi turned on.
