you can essentially see everything the same. the slats are angled so that they do not obstruct your view when looking at the rear view mirror.
the only thing i had to adjust to has been checking my surroundings while backing up.
one member posted some feedback and said it was startling the first time checking their blind spot and seeing the louvre there. i concur.
