And the procedure for changing the springs and sealing the FA20 is radically different than any other Subaru engine. If anything the Subaru techs can screw it up easier since they are used to one way and probably don't even look at the instructions.
This whole "Toyota techs don't know how to work on boxer engines" is pure bullshit. It isn't like they have never been exposed to anything but Toyota engines in their whole career. A 10 year old with no experience could successfully do the work if they just follow the instructions. Not following them and messing engines up is not a Toyota issue it is an individual one.
