I'd say the Type S and the FT86 are pretty comparable. Similar HP motor and similar weight. The FT86 being slightly lighter. The 0-60mph calculator http://www.060calculator.com/ says the FT86 would be faster in a straight line.

But then it also comes down to FWD vs RWD. I also never imagined the RSX, type S or not, to be that spectacular in the handling attributes nor have a amazingly low CG like the FT86.

I think the RSX Type S is a pretty solid entry level sports car, but when you add everything up FT86 > RSX Type S in every way.
