There have been two members in our local 86 club that had ST coilovers that failed with little warning. They've since switched to other setups.
I've ridden in cars with Flex A, BC extreme low, Ohlins, etc. My favorite for DD has been the Flex A, on track has been Ohlins.
My car right now has OEM Sachs dampers, RCE Yellow springs, and Vorshlag camber plates.
As for Flex A vs Z, the Flex A have a hydraulic bump stop which make them significantly more comfortable than the Flex Z.
