This seems to be a common thought on this forum. FWIW, when I was on stock suspension and BFG R1Ss, my lap times were faster than T2s with Maxxis RC1s.
I'm not saying R1Ss are a great match for an otherwise stock car, but I really don't think the "matching" of the tires with suspension is as big of an issue as what most people here seem to think.
In the end, sticky tires = speed.
