Was thinking of other mods I could do with limited funds. Went with Plastidip as a primer since I wanted an option if I didn't like how it turns out. Thank you @OmarGC for the inspiration!

Time spent: 5.5 hrs from jack-up to mounting, including cure time
Total cost: ~$40 (2 cans of plastidip, 2 cans of Rustoleum Metalic Gold), masking tape and news paper I already had. Wife eye rolling not included
