Among other things i got it because it had a stick
And i needed my manual fix...in a car that was made to have a manual trans.
-the scion iM i had was a stick....but it was purely an econobox.
-I guess i could have gotten a ponycar....but did i want a ponycar?
-I could have gone with a BMW M car....but our household was already paying for a BMW...having more BMW level car payments on top of that would have just stretched us thin unneccessarily. I'd be waiting until the BMW is fully paid off before even considering looking into something at that pricer range.
Im not pulling out an 8+ year loan just to be able to reduce car payments on top of having to find a chunk of upfront change to make those payment numbers......thats way too long of a loan period. 5 years is my max (and i think is a typical loan length)
And in terms of first vs second gen....I didnt want to wait for second gen (still about 6 months out at the time)
And after driving puny econoboxes for so long the torque dip experience was just a nothing burger.
