LOL. I think it's more of an instant messaging thing, but I am most definitely guilty of reading things differently on forums as well because of the awkward position this type of communication sits in.
Also, most people don't learn proper writing skills until they hit post secondary education, and even then they may still be horrible. The internet being littered with high school kids I think is what mostly skews that because of our
lemming-like social media population.
